WebDaughter of Persia is a wonderful book. Most fascinating is the history of Iran told through the experiences of one remarkable woman. Farman Farmaian's engagement with both Iranian and American society at a young age and her secular democratic ideals make this a very accessible look at Iran for a Western audience.
