The Great Motherlode Brass and Reed Band was founded by Professor John Borowitz over 25 years ago as a re-creation of a turn of the century band. He had a number of period instruments, and we played no music more recent than 1910, performing in outdoor concerts, particularly for events at Columbia State Park.
