WebJan 6, 2015 · Those derby cover screws have been a problem ever since Harley went to the 5 hole cover. The 3 hole covers sucked because the cover would warp if the screws were over tightened and would then leak even with a new gasket. FYI. The MoCo doesn't use lock tight or sealer on those screws from the factory !

WebMar 6, 2024 · These torx screws strip on every new Harley. They are made out of soft material. Just get a drill bit that is slightly larger than the actual threaded part of the bolt and drill directly into the center of the stripped bolt. The head will quickly pop off.
