This is the same with 2 different USB keyboards. I downloaded the most recent bios update and used the USB bios flash update. The blue light flashed and the power light on the USB drive came on for a couple of minutes then stopped.

If you set the lights off within synapse, your profile won't load until the synapse is launched. So basically if you turn on your laptop, the lights will be on with spectrum cycling until you log in your account and turn on synapse.
